6. HEALTH HAZARD DATA
PRIMARY ROUTE OF ENTRY: Dermal / Inhalation
EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE: Prolonged or repeated liquid contact with the skin will dry and defat the skin, leading to irritation and dermatitis. Inhalation of fumes in high concentration may result in dizziness, headache, respiratory irritation or unconsciousness. The lethal oral dosage for a 150 pound human is approximately 1 pint to 1 quart.
CARCINOGENICITY: According to IARC Monographs severely hydrotreated lube oils, such as this product, are not considered carcinogenic. Nevertheless, good industrial hygiene practices are recommended.
First Aid Treatment: If overcome by fumes, remove from exposure immediately; call a physician. If breathing is irregular, or stopped, start resuscitation and administer oxygen. If ingested, DO NOT induce vomiting; call a physician. In case of skin contact, remove any contaminated clothing and wash skin with warm water and soap. If irritation persists, call a physician. If splashed into eyes, flush eyes with clear water for 15 minutes.
7. SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES
IN CASE OF SPILL OR LEAK: Remove ignition sources. Keep people away. Recover liquid. Add absorbent (sand, sawdust, etc.) to spill area. Minimize breathing of fumes. Ventilate confined spaces. Open all windows and doors. Advise authorities if product enters sewers, etc.
WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD: Assure conformity with applicable disposal regulations. Dispose of absorbed material at approved waste site.
8. SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION
EYE: Use goggles / face shield to avoid eye contact.
GLOVES: Use impervious gloves, if needed, to avoid repeated / prolonged skin
contact.
RESPIRATORY: Normally not required. Respirator for mist.
OTHER CLOTHING / EQUIPMENT: As needed to prevent repeated / prolonged
contact. If clothes become contaminated change to fresh, clean clothing; do not
wear contaminated clothing until thoroughly laundered.
VENTILATION: LOCAL Face velocity greater than 60 cfm.
MECHANICAL No special
requirement.
9. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Keep containers closed when not in use. Do not handle or store near heat or flames.
OTHER PRECAUTIONS: Avoid breathing fumes. Wash skin thoroughly with soap / warm water after handling. Use chemical resistant gloves and apron.
